Conquering the Gibb River Road: 11 Days of Pure Aussie Magic By Meghan & Harry – Livin’ Not Dreamin’

At SEEKR by Caframo, we believe that real adventure begins where the road gets rough — and few journeys embody that spirit better than Western Australia's legendary Gibb River Road. We partnered with content creators Meghan & Harry from @livinnotdreamin_ to capture the true essence of this unforgettable 11-day expedition. From red dust tracks to hidden gorges and soul-stirring sunsets, they experienced the Kimberley in all its wild beauty. Here’s a firsthand look at their journey across one of Australia's most iconic outback routes.

The Gibb River Road. Just the name conjures red dust, remote gorges, and the kind of adventure that sticks with you long after the dirt washes off. We tackled this iconic Kimberley track over 11 unforgettable days, and it was every bit the wild, rugged, soul-refreshing journey we hoped for.

Our adventure kicked off at El Questro Station, where we stayed two nights and soaked up everything this incredible pocket of wilderness had to offer. Emma Gorge was the perfect warm-up – a short but rewarding hike that ended in a stunning waterfall-fed pool. From there, we took on El Questro Gorge, winding through palm-lined paths and scrambling over rocks to reach a clear swimming hole framed by sheer cliffs. Zebedee Hot Springs was a dreamy way to unwind, nestled under towering palms with warm thermal water lapping at our feet.

We caught sunset (and a serious wow-factor) at both Branko’s Lookout and Saddleback Ridge, two of the most breathtaking spots to watch the Kimberley sky put on a show. Before leaving El Questro, we squeezed in a visit to Amalia Gorge, where cascading falls and turquoise pools made the hike more than worth it.

Crossing the Pentecost River was one of those classic Gibb moments – tyres splashing, cameras rolling, and hearts racing just a little faster. Our next stop: Ellenbrae Station, where the scones are legendary for good reason. Served warm, with homemade jam and cream, they were the fuel we didn’t know we needed.

From there, we hit the gorge trifecta: Manning, Galvans, and Adcock. Each had its own vibe – Manning with its powerful falls and epic swimming hole, Galvans with its easy access and hidden beauty, and Adcock, quiet and full of character.

We then made our way to the grand finale gorges – Bell Gorge and Lennard Gorge – both delivering with dramatic drops, cool waters, and those iconic Kimberley vistas that make your jaw drop. Bell’s tiered falls and swimming spots were a crowd favorite, but Lennard’s secluded feel gave it a special edge.

On a whim, we made a detour to Windjana Gorge, a place with serious Jurassic Park energy – ancient limestone walls, freshwater crocs, and that feeling of walking through time. And to cap it all off? The Tunnel Creek swim – wading through darkness, guided only by torchlight and the sound of water echoing through the cave. A fitting, refreshing end to an epic outback journey.

The Gibb River Road challenged us, wowed us, and completely stole our hearts. Eleven days of red dust, blue skies, and wild beauty – we wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Until the next adventure,
