Sailing the Tropics in Style with Tess, Brett and Coco
Tess, Brett and Coco are an amazing trio, adventuring the tropics while doing so in style! Not only are their voyages shared beautifully through their social accounts inspiring those who are looking to embark on their next voyage, but Coco the cat has become a fan-favourite as she lives the good the life aboard their sailboat.
Their story is an incredible one!

We are Captain Brett, First mate Tess and Ship’s cat Coco. We are originally from South Australia but now call our 40ft sailboat our home. We chose this lifestyle as we love the ocean, the freedom, the remote places we can reach, the environmentally friendly way of travel and all the secret waves we’ve found. We’ve been living full time on our sailboat for two and a half years.
We are currently in the Ninigo Islands, Papua New Guinea. We have slowly sailed here through the South Pacific. We started in Fiji, then onto Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands and now currently cruising PNG!
We have a 40ft cutter rigged, sloop, fibreglass sailboat that was custom built in Montreal, Canada in 1990. We’ve sailed around 4000 nautical miles. We spent a year and half in Fiji cruising the outer islands. Then, we did a four-day crossing to Vanuatu and spent a few months exploring the volcanoes, canyons and villages. We then spent eight months in the Solomon Islands surfing our brains out. So many amazing waves! We have recently completed a three-day passage to PNG. We are still getting to know the country, but so far so good!
SEEKR is a very popular brand amongst yachties, especially those in tropical places. So I guess we learnt about SEEKR by word of mouth. We have previously had several of the Ultimate 12v fans onboard and have recently upgraded to the Sirocco ll 12v fans. We love the fans! Especially as we are always in hot and humid climates, the fans are a real-life saver for us.
We are slowly making our way west around the world. Maybe we’ll circumnavigate, or maybe we’ll keep chasing the swells. We plan on exploring Indonesia and Timor-Leste next!
